Professional Beauty London 2019

The last Sunday and Monday of February, all roads lead to the ExCel Centre. Why? Professional Beauty hosted the UK’s largest Beauty and Spa trade show.

Pro Beauty brings some of the biggest brands together making them available to their customers under one roof. This allows consumers to see new launches first hand as well as trying out products and treatment. The two-day event, provides a range of events for attendees from CPD accredited activities to wellness workshop to live stage demonstrations.

I have been to this event before but was a bit overwhelmed, so I was not able to take everything in as I would have liked. But this year, I came armed with my trainers, coffee, bottled water and an eager friend ready to see everything. My main aim was to see as many brands as physically possible within one day as I could not attend the event on Monday, due to work.

I had no brand, in particular, I wanted to see as I wanted to see as many brands as possible, but once I had seen the event programme and map, I saw a few of my favourite brands were in attendance so I made note of that to see what kind of discount they’ll be doing on the day. Walking around a lot of brands were very approachable. You could see there was a sense of community with some brands even though there are competition, they were happy to see each other at the show, which was warming.

As I was attending the event as a Blogger, I had access to some complimentary treatments at the show. There were a handful that I want to try out but couldn’t due to long queues or long treatment time (2hrs for a Russian Manicure!). I did manage to get a complimentary gift bag from Vagheggi Spa which contained a ‘shake to activate’ makeup remover that I am obsessed with right now. There were a number of brands offering facials which I would have loved to try out but I made the rookie mistake of coming to the show with a full face of makeup. Lesson learned for next year.

After spending six hours at the show, I had seen all the brands I could bring myself to see and I felt like I didn't really make a dent in seeing all the brands! If I go again next year I am going to try to go over the two days to see everything available. I lost track of time and unfortunately was not able to attend any of the workshops I booked myself onto. There were a good range of workshops and talks happening throughout the day, something for all types of attendees. There is truly a lot on offer from discounted products to getting a facial scan and seeing what areas of your face have UV damage or starting to get wrinkles and being advised what products to use to prevent further damage.

I purchased and was gifted a lot of goodies on the day which I have been excited to try out and use! Last year when I attended Pro Beauty, I was gifted a beauty sponge that is the best beauty sponge I’ve used and have needed to replace it for over 4/5 months but couldn’t remember the brands name, so when I saw the sponge at Nanshy’s booth I was excited I bought their marble blender and also bought their ‘drop of finesse’ blending sponge to try out. Not far from the Nanshy booth was Make Up For Ever, like the majority of brands in attendance Make Up For Ever had discounted their products which was music to my ears, I got their Ultra HD Foundation and Full Cover Concealer (which might be featured in a future Foundation Friday).

If you have been reading any of my skincare posts or follow me on Insta, you’d know I love a sheet mask or two, especially if they are by the brand Vitamasque. I purchased four masques from their Gemstone Collection, I have been eyeing these masques due to their therapeutic claims and the masks are coloured! I also got Vitamasques’ Pearl Sheet Masque to see if it’ll help to brighten my skin after those long work days. Keeping on theme with sheet masks, I came across another Korean Beauty Brand I’d not heard of, Miin. Miin are a Korean Cosmetic online distributor. Not wanting to add too much to the 100s of sheet masks I am slowly accumulating I purchased their Marine Jewel Hydrating Mask. As much as I love my sheet masks, I do dabble with clay masks which I have been applying with my hands, so I had to take up the chance to buy a mask brush from Love Grove Essentials. It was inexpensive and is a study, good quality brush.

Walking around, brands were giving out samples if you signed up to their newsletter or if you posted about their stand on social media. I have a handful of samples from brands. From Elemis, samples of their Superfood Mask and their Night Recovery Cream-Oil. A cleanser from Murad. A little goody bag from Candy Coat, with their Lipstick and Candy Coat Hand Mirror and other treats. Collagen drink samples from Skinglo. The last sample is a powered energy sachet from Arbonne.

I was invited to show by Pro Beauty. So I was gifted an extra goody bag that included a bunch of treats from exhibitors on the day. Yamuna Cosmetics included a pen and an orange/cinnamon vegan soap, that smells heavenly. The goody bag also included some more treats from Arbonne another energy drink sachet in another flavour (pomegranate) and a makeup primer sample. I am assuming that collagen is a big thing in the beauty industry right now, due to the number of collagen drinks present on the day and in the goody bag, it contained a 10-day collagen drink program by Gold Collagen. MS International Investments gifted a hairbrush and Newton Wood gave some Epsom Salt crystals. Skin Evolution gifted some Dr Renaud travel size skincare samples. Proto-col, an advanced skincare brand, gifted a hand cream (which is perfect for my field of work) and a miracle balm which is a multi-purpose balm that can be used on dry skin. Lastly, Lucis College an establishment that teaches a range of Holistic therapies, gifted a Rose Quartz Crystal. This may be my favourite item in the gift bag, as I’ve wanted to get into crystals for at least a year but did not know where to start!

Professional Beauty is a great day out for people who work in the beauty industry or whether you’re just an enthusiast like me, I recommend you go at least for a day to see what it’s like for yourself. Wish to attend next year? Professional Beauty London will be held on Feb 23-24 2020 at ExCel London. Head to the Professional Beauty Website for more info on how to get tickets for next years event.
