Foundation Friday: Nars Longwear Radiant

Foundation Fridays are back. Back in full force. In case you missed previous foundation Fridays, I have reviewed and rated foundations from Fenty, NYX, Dior and now NARS. THIS Foundation Friday is featuring NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation.

Priced at £35 for 30 ml, this foundation claims to have a wearability of 16 hours! With a natural coverage, that is lightweight as well as radiant. Out of all the foundations I have tried out so far, I believe that this is the first to contain ingredients to help improve the look of your skin. I have heard raving reviews about this foundation that I had to try it out for myself.

I must applaud NARS, on their shade range with 33 shades, at least 11 shades could be used on darker skin tones. I was shade matched at Harvey Nichols by one the NARS representative and was matched to the shade ‘Manaus’, Manaus is described to be for deep dark skin tones with caramel undertones.

On application I found that it was very easy to blend out. I used a beauty sponge for application and found that the finish was natural very skin like, not cakey at all. The shade match was flaw less added to the skin like finish. The consistency of the foundation was very light, it took me 2/3 pumps for me to get the coverage I like but didn’t feel heavy me.  Looking at the foundation after pumping out I could see that the radiance comes from shimmer that has been added into the foundation. Even though the radiance of the foundation came from what has been added it the glow it gives is very sun kissed and natural.

One thing I struggle with is testing foundation’s longevity, because who really wanted to be wearing foundation for more than 12 hours. Luckily, I was at an event recently that started early in the day, which meant I could  wear the foundation for more than over 14 hours. I’m surprised to say that at hour 14 my makeup looked as good as it did at hour 1, this foundation really lives up to its claim of ‘It wears longer, stays stronger, and looks better with each hour.’

Overall, I will give the NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation a 5 out of 5! I tried my best to find a flaw with this foundation, from the sleek bottle to the finish to the price. This foundation is worth every penny. The only issue I had is that is separated a bit when I started sweating but that was something that was very easy to resolve once I set my face with some powder. I find myself reaching for this foundation before any others even took it on holiday with me!
