My Ebony Box: Oct-Dec

Recently I interviewed the owner of the new subscription box service, My Ebony Box. My Ebony Box is a lifestyle box curated for Women of Colour. The boxes include items from well known brands as well as independent and boutique brands. I have been subscribed to My Ebony Box since its launch in October. Each box contains a range of items for self care. Some items in the box are part of the My Ebony Box brand which are available to be purchased on their website.

When you open each box you are met with a 'postcard' with some art on the lid of the box. The Christmas card was designed by the founder of My Ebony Box with the character 'Queen Zen' taking centre stage. The first card in the October box (pictured above, bottom left) the ebony crown was also designed by the box's founder Jenaitre as well. The November card contains a quote from Maya Angelou 'We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated' with art by Draw Me Close. I look forward to seeing each little work of art when I open each box, my favourite so far has to be the Christmas card.

The very first box contained around 9 items, the box was valued to be worth over £40, the box contains
Love Chin Chin, vanilla flavour
Korres Basil Lemon Shower Gel
Marks & Spencer’s Nourishing Lemon Cocoa Hand butter
Samples from Creme of Nature(Crème of Nature Argan Oil, Cleansing conditionerCurl styling gel twirl custardLeave-in hair milk)
My Ebony Box Queen Ebony note pad,
My Ebony Box pencil,
My Ebony Box Badge - I love My Roots
Not pictured is my My Ebony Box Mug - Her Story  that was included in the box, its proudly taken it place as my coffee mug at work. Also not pictured is the Be Phenomenal poster by Simone Ameliah, I have framed my picture and it looks lovely hanging above my bed.

The November Box, named the ME box, contained loads of personal favourites for me. The box contained
African Print Make up bag  - Feed My Creative
Afro Comb  – James London
I think every item bar the tea and bag I was a fan of the brand or item before recieving the box. That being said I really love the makeup bag by Feed My Creative  and support the owner's movement, so much so that I have ordered myself some more bags for myself and my friends. I have yet to try the tea but can't wait to try it as it states that its aim is to strengthen, protect and fortify.

The December festive box is probably my favourite overall so far. This box contains 9 items to help you unwind and really enjoy this holiday season. In the box is:
'Rocking My Black Girl Magic' Socks - My Ebony Box
Original Plantain Crisps - Chika's
Colour Extending Lip Pencil - Revlon Vital Radiance
Wax Melts, Lady Million Scent - Samsscents
Vitamin C Power Serum - Balance
Smart Coffee - Revitalu Brew
You Be Natural Samples - Lusters
2017 Diary - Theatrefullstop
Queen Sleigh Christmas Card - Simone Ameliah
My Ebony Box Queendom Poem - Dave Wilkes

The reason this box is my favourite, bar one or two items this box introduced me to a range of new brands that I have not heard or ventured into buying from and so far I am loving them the socks are a big favourite in this box for me. They come in my favourite colour (purple) and are very warm (wearing them as I write this post).
A subscription for one month cost £20, I am going to continue with my subscription through to the new year.
My Ebony Box subscription is a unique service for us women of colour and I hope you check out their website and purchase a few items or subscribe yourselves.
