Natural Hair Week Haul

I attended the Natural Hair Week event in Birmingham. It was my first time attending this event and definitely wont be my last.

Natural Hair Week, held in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and London, is an event that is all about being empowered by your natural hair and being surrounded by like minded people. During the event, there was a marketplace full of a range of brands selling everything from hair products to jewellery and items of clothing. There was also a range of workshops were held; from DIY Natural Hair products with Diva's Kitchen to Headwrapping masterclass with Lorene Rhoomes. There were even workshops directed at children which I thought was a brilliant idea.

As I mentioned before they were selling hair products from a range of different brands. I think I have said in a post before I no longer live in London, so well priced hair products are very hard to come by. I may have got a little carried away. OK I got very carried away, I couldn't help it, the product junkie in me came out to play and part of me didn't mind. Now, I think I've said this time and time again I absolutely love Cantu products, (sponsor me if you want *wink wink*), from the delicious coconut scent to the moisturising quality, you can't really go wrong with their products. I didn't just buy Cantu products I did kind of branch to other brands but my haul majority is Cantu this time round, I think next time I will be a bit more experimental with my products so I can branch out to other products. Due to getting so many Cantu products I may have to spilt this post into two.

Apart from Cantu I did venture out to two different brands I have not tried before. The first being Luster's, I am pretty sure everyone and their mum knows Luster's for their Pink Oil Moisturising Lotion. Luster's has recently ventured into the natural hair market, their natural line is called Luster's you Be-Natural. Compared to other brands they did not have a big range of products. There was an offer 3 products for £10. I bought the Botanicals Smoothing & Defrizzing Creme which is supposed to be good at providing moisture especially if your hair has been coloured. Its formula containing Vitamin E and Argan Oil allows it to also be used as a daily Leave-in Conditioner. The second product being the Botanical Edge Tamer All Day Hold Gel, I have been on the hunt for a good edge tamer that lasts the whole day and not just a few minutes, so hopefully this lives up to its name. The last product is the Botanical Scalp Soother Ointment which relieves irritation on the scalp.

As part of my ticket into the event I received a Limited edition CurlyTreats Box. CurlyTreats is a subscription service that is founded by the co-creator of Natural Hair Week, Vinna Best. In each box you get a least 3 full sized products targeted at curly hair.
In my box I received Palmer's Manuka Flower Honey Leave-In conditioner, Sofn'free Milk Protein & Olive Oil Strengthening Creme and Design Essentials Natural Honey & Shea Edge Tamer. Apart from these full size products there were also samples from the events sponsors.

Did you attend Natural Hair Week? What was your favourite part?
